Winzler & Kelly is providing services to plan, permit, and construct the infrastructure to support this very large and important development in San Francisco. The 300-acre development area is adjacent to the San Francisco Bay and the AT&T Park baseball stadium. This highly visible mixed-use development contains residential, commercial, institutional, and light industrial activities. Winzler & Kelly is planning and designing infrastructure systems involving water (high pressure, low pressure and reclaimed systems), sanitary sewer, storm sewer, gas, dry utilities (joint trench-electric, communications, and street lighting), street improvements (street section, curb, gutter, sidewalk, landscaping), and public transportation support facilities for both light rail and electrified buses.
This work required intensive communication and coordination with many City agencies, including the public works, water, and fire departments; the Redevelopment Agency; the Public Utilities Commission; and the Municipal Railway. The projects have also required intensive communication with and coordination of subconsultants.
